2018-03-28 Communications Team Meeting

M/S/P
4Topic 1: Identify list of upcoming or active projects needing communications assistance (all)

Some items we can flesh out:

  • Additional press about PAIL submissions to ASABE
  • ADAPT press or flyer updates/additions
  • SPADE work to get into final condition for closing out SPADE
  • Other PAC flyers that need updates
  • Other press release or news article ideas to capture for future work

Key question before we undertake any updates or new communications projects: Is there a person or group we're trying to reach with a particular piece or a particular message? If so, that's where we start.

Questions from Susan Ruland (Unlicensed):

  1. For InfoAg, what materials need to be created new or updated? What materials need to be sent with those attending?
  2. Will there be a SPADE 4? Is there news about ADAPT that needs announcement?

PAIL items from Dan Berne (Unlicensed):

  1. Dan Berne (Unlicensed) noted that he and R. Andres Ferreyra (Unlicensed) want to update the PAIL posters used at the 2017 MYM. PAIL is progressing to PAIL3, and will broaden reach and shift project focus to other aspects of water management and irrigation. The updated posters will show what's been accomplished, lay out the next phase, and start identifying which companies to target for involvement.
  2. For MYM and beyond, need to tell members and attendees where to get the PAIL implementation guides. Possibly host a link that connects to the guide at ASABE. Dan Berne (Unlicensed) will visit with Jim Wilson about if its OK to post or if there is a different (preferred) way to share the documents.
  3. Dan Berne (Unlicensed) to work with Susan Ruland (Unlicensed) on messaging to target the right group(s).
  4. Dan Berne (Unlicensed) will send R. Andres Ferreyra (Unlicensed) updates to the PAIL data posters by Friday May 18 and R. Andres Ferreyra (Unlicensed) will send updates to Susan Ruland (Unlicensed) by Friday, May 25 for printing and delivery to MYM.
  5. Jessica Trites Rolle will review PAIL paperwork and find tie to USDA programs for collaboration.

Continuing key communications and press activity areas:Traceability and CART, PAIL3, completing SPADE, update on ADAPT activity, applicability of Blockchain in ag...

4Topic 2: Review new PAC members and determine outreach (all)

Review all new PAC members and determine next steps with each: further outreach, mentor assignment, about AgGateway PAC presentation, etc.

PAC Onboarding Log (new at bottom): https://aggateway.atlassian.net/wiki/x/EICzBw

New PAC member companies without mentors:

  • Levridge, LLC
  • Tavant Technologies, Inc.
  • Chronicled
  • Purity Ag, LLC

Jessica Trites Rolle will review each member company to see if any are working with/on irrigation (machinery, equipment, data, etc.) and if so, pass those companies and contacts on to Dan Berne (Unlicensed).

The group will review the new member companies again next week.

Topic 3: Event CalendarReview and update the PAC Communications Calendar 2018.Added Irrigation Association conference and Growing Innovations Conference to the list.

Topic 4: Speaking EngagementsReview upcoming speaking engagements and what communications items - flyers, etc. - are neededNone noted.

Topic 5: Mid-Year Meeting PAC Communications WG

Begin identifying items to review with MYM attendees and items to actively work on during the session.

PAC Communications WG meets Tuesday, June 12 at 10 a.m. US Central Time.

For MYM session, Jessica Trites Rolle to contact Mark Stelford (Unlicensed) about updating the PAC CWG on ADAPT current status and next phases in the project. Identify where CWG and AgGateway Communications can help with materials, press, etc.

Jessica Trites Rolle will use items discussed in topic 1 to start drafting MYM discussion areas and make sure the right people can join the session.

Topic 6: New BusinessDiscuss items not covered above.Questions to Susan Ruland (Unlicensed): Do we know what a communications life-cycle looks like for a generic AgGateway project? Something to use as a guide or checklist as a project progresses?
