5 | Additional thoughts from “press release” brainstorm from January Council training | Susan shares “press release” exercise from January Council training:
| PAIL outreach needed Reference Data - want to get manufacturers to think about what is needed to start sourcing reference data and participating in the ecosystem. Need to start talks with Crop Protection Council; CIO. As well as reference data providers. |
6 | Discuss ADAPT goals – what do we want to communicate that was accomplished in 2017? | Group discusses ADAPT communications goals. | ADAPT minimum viable product - make it clear how to implement for this (need definition of minimum viable product). For companies that want to implement more, give them application notes on how to do that. OEM - get them to create plugins for MVP ADAPT workshop should be planned Webinars not the best medium in past due to technical nature 5 most important specific messages to be identified; boil down to a 5 minute webinar to have in Spanish and Portuguese for AGN. Would be good to have an ADAPT webinar - need materials in place
|
7 | Review/discuss promotional goals for 2017 | Team discusses and refines promotional goals for 2017 | Get to a sizable number of commitments from FMIS companies OEMs create plugin to support version 1 of ADAPT with timeline USDA commit to creation of ADAPT plugin and/or endorsement. Deb Casurella had committed to doing this. Approach more OEMs to get commitments by mid-year meeting on MVP scope. Important next step to get a date. |
8 | Trade shows/conferences – what do members need to help spread the word at these meetings? | Team discusses which trade shows and conferences to focus on and what members will need to help spread the word.
9 | Milestones” throughout year – calendar targets | Team discusses/reviews draft promotional milestones in 2017 - including when there is an item ready to promote, as well as for conferences, etc. | Commodity Classic - share FMIS company commitments - may be a little early to secure commitments. Instead focus on InfoAg to get OEM commitments with dates. Get more commitments at InfoAg. Mid-Year Meeting - June ASABE - July InfoAg end of July Agritechnica - November Irrigation Association Show - November 1st week ADAPT - ARA meeting December ADAPT - apply for AE50 award (2018); Agritechnica award probably end of July deadline Andres presenting at Research Data Alliance Plenary in Barcelona - early April March - promote PAIL Standard |
10 | Media outlets - any new/special considerations | Team discusses any additional information new to 2017 regarding media outlets/reporters. | Precision Ag publication - maybe setup interview with Dan for PAIL standard Joy Powell - farm/producer publication would like to promote more of our work. Maybe opportunity for PAIL standard. |
Application Notes | Reviewed Application Note proposed format to follow single sheet 2 sided flyer. There are many topics to cover in Application Notes to be developed over time. Each one encapsulates a specific implementation problem within ADAPT. Susan recommends giving it a unique format/look to easily recognize Application Notes apart from flyers. Need numbering scheme. Think about a PAIL oriented series of Application Notes as well.
Consider calling it Implementation Notes instead. Need more brainstorming on a more generic term that makes sense to even lay people.
11 | Next PAC Council meeting – review goals, social media request, members needed for AgGateway Communications Committee. | Inform team on when next PAC Council meeting/call is, and idea of Susan sharing promotional plans on that call. | Next PAC Council meeting to take place latter part of February. |
12 | Action Items | Review action items.
13 | Adjournment (Meeting facilitator) |
