2016 ICPA CART

The CART project goal is to define a common data model to allow communication throughout the supply chain that will benefit our Grain Elevator Operator customers in a variety of ways.

1. Improve grain handling efficiencies by being able to schedule bin to bin transfers to optimize grain drying activities.
2. Making it much easier for them to be accountable to supply chain regulators by automating the capture grain origin and grain destination of all grain passing through their facilities. Food safety continues to increase in importance bringing more regulatory burden to the elevator operators.
3. Having more accurate digital information about grain quality will allow them to increase revenue by optimizing their marketing strategies and activities.
4. Farmers will also benefit from the standpoint of having data for better marketing decisions and while the farmer isn’t our direct customer there is value to the elevator operator in being able to provide relevant info to the farmer.
