Energy Meet-Up:
  - F2F Meeting - 2022
  - Product Movement - Receive Product Electronically
  - Limited Vendors - Enough to Move Forward
  - Pricing - Manual & Timely
  - Ideas - Thoughts?
      - We had a perfect meeting and set of attendees before Covid hit. Countrymark was ready to be part, and it will be difficult to get the big players in the energy world interested. We didn't want to do it virtually. We've re-engaged with Countrymark, and we have the technical and finance people interested now. They aren't part of AgGateway so they don't fully understand what we're trying to do. We've had meetings explaining AgGateway and our overall goals, and they've agreed to move forward. They're working on another project now, but they just don't understand what we're trying to do for the greater good for the entire industry. Uriah and Jeff to meet, and possibly Rob Bullock, to meet with them one on one and get the more engaged with AgGateway as a whole.
  - Set a meeting date and get it moving. There's a lot of interest, and the work done in seed is easily going to translate to what we want to do in energy.
     - Early August?
         - originally going to be held in Indianapolis, and can still be held there.
         - August and early September are an opportunity to get it done
             - Pushing much further runs into the start of harvest
         - One or two days to give room to discuss everything. Very limited number of products, and we may be able to lean on a lot of already existing messages. If we can get started.
     - People willing to volunteer/available in August or September to meet (Energy controllers, energy leadership would be ideal)

  • Crop Protection:
       Unit of Measure Conversions
       Low Adoption
       Barcoding/GTIN by Package Size
       Still have volunteers?

  • Ann - the biggest struggle we have is the GTIN and utilization of the GTIN vs partner's id. If we use the manufacturer's ID, we can't report. We want one seamless transaction with unit of measure code so we can report with the same GTIN number. We are not reporting through Agromine, so we went back to old school Excel. All sales are dumped into an Excel spreadsheet and uploading it through a data dimensions portal which allows us to upload to multiple manufacturers with one spreadsheet. That's the only way that works at this moment. Not all of the manufacturers out there use a standard unit of measure. Some may use ga, g, or gal for gallons. We're constantly having to change something as simple as gallons. It's not standard within the industry or chemical companies. If all the CPP people could use a standard, life would be amazing.
    • What is used for ID?
    • We have to look them up, and our reporting area has a download to find the IDs. Or we look through dropdown lists to find the ID. You can only look at the list as a dropdown.
  • There was an initiative out around AGIIS, and it's gone silent. Where is that?
    • Natasha - I'll be the first to say I have failed to push that initiative.
    • GTIN and application of AGIIS to be utilized to the conversation, and how master data can be utilized in the industry in a functional way pulling from a single resource.
  • Does everyone understand why GTIN works or doesn't work in Seed?
    • It works really well in seed. Because seed is one unit. It's bag or always..
      • We can tie a GTIN to one case.
    • The retail group has to solve GTIN and subGTINs. Some use GTINs like a UPC. Needed to scan several GTINs, and had to create a cross reference table custom to have all that information.
  • Can more than one number be attached to a GTIN in a system?
  • The data does no good if on either side of the B2B transaction they translate the information differently. I can send pricing based on gallons, and you use jugs, it doesn't work.
  • Do people want to be able to scan a bar code that functions like a GTIN? That's where the variability would be. If you are never going to scan, we can agree on a number and use it.
    • Yes, but the most important thing would be to uniquely identify the product for data.
  • How do you create GTINs for repack?
  • How is it reported back to manufacturer for bulk packing?
    • In most cases the manufacturer wants it repacked and placed under the bulk item number.

January 8 call following annual meeting, and nothing has happened since then. Does this also need a face to face kick up meeting? Should it coincide with the Energy meet up since it's some of the same folks?

  • Is anyone willing to do a face to face and sit down to hash out the information for this? Crop Protection manufacturers and retailers.
    • Josh Wall can work on descriptions to send out to people to give them an idea of what the problem is to show what's being done.

Early August face to face

   - Follow-up in November for Annual
   - Maybe February 2023 in Greensboro?

  • If manufacturers can hear from retailers that they want GTINs, it's more likely to be adopted.
