A Prescription – is crop specific and is typically drafted at spatially specific field level by a consultant/trusted advisor or retailer/service provider; it contains all the information contained in a plan and recommendation and is a specific plan that identifies "What, how much, and where”. A grower may have or use 0…n prescriptions. A prescription is the third step of the data sequence and will include: - Identification of the specific operation to be performed on a spatially specific location / spatially specific extents. - Spatially specific field, sub-field, part field, or land location. - Identification of specific products and operations to be used - Product to be used; may be variety, nutrient, protectant with guide - Rate of product to be applied - Units of product to be applied - Summary estimate of cost per product unit and total cost. The prescription may include: - Optional, the optimum application window or application window options - Optional, the rate to be used in Variable Rate applications. A prescription is a specific document, sets of documents, or work task: - Where the final recipient of the prescription is a human, FMIS, service provider, or farm machinery – in any combination. - That is a part of a Work Order.
