producer

A person engaged in producing an agricultural commodity for a share of the insured crop, or the proceeds thereof; the entity that is the recognized legal operator of the farm operation. The producer may or may not be the primary operator of the ag machinery, but is the primary decision maker in the agronomy and other crop husbandry decisions. Other names are- client, farmer, and operator.
