polyphosphate

A general class of phosphate compounds characterized by molecules containing two or more P atoms. Polyphosphates are comprised of two or more orthophosphate molecules with the loss of a molecule of water between each orthophosphate unit. Derived from superphosphoric acid. Available primarily in fluid fertilizers as ammonium polyphosphates.
