geostationary satellites

An orbital path of a satellite that is synchronized with the earth’s orbit or space vehicles in an orbit that keeps them over the same location on the Earth at all times. Satellite-based differential correction signals are broadcast from this type of satellites. Others are maintained by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to provide weather images every 30 minutes of the Earth.
