The actual amount of applied irrigation water stored in the soil for plant use or moved through the soil for leaching salts. Also includes water applied for crop quality and temperature modification; i.e. frost control, cooling plant foliage and fruit. Application losses, such as evaporation, runoff, and deep percolation, are not included.
