Project Overview

Seed and crop-protection products in North America frequently flow through unauthorized channels. The Channel Integrity Project is conceived as a solution to help the industry restore supply-chain integrity. The first phase is to execute a proof-of-value (POV) exercise. As of Jun 24, 2019 , Land O’Lakes and BASF have committed funds to bootstrap the effort. This project would likely use blockchain with a vendor-provided solution. Substantial costs are estimated for later phases: 2) pilot, and 3) operational. Consequently, it may take a few months to secure funding for phases 2 and 3. This project charter addresses phase 1 (POV) only.

  6. Serialization analysis (Is value-creation possible without serialized products? If so, would more value be created by having serialized products?)

  7. Business rules (e.g., smart contract requirements)

  8. Integration types required for a pilot (e.g., SAP, SSI)

  9. Identifier and identification system requirements (e.g., AGIIS use/changes)

Resource Requirements

There will be a participation fee. The initial estimate is 30,000 - 35,000 USD total, divided among participants. The fee will primarily cover project manager time and expenses. Presently the fee is set to 5,000 USD per participant.
