hydraulic conductivity
The ability of a porous medium to transmit a specific fluid under a unit hydraulic gradient; a function of both the characteristics of the medium and the properties of the fluid being transmitted. Usually a laboratory measurement corrected to a standard temperature and expressed in units of length/time. Although the term hydraulic conductivity is sometimes used interchangeably with the term permeability, the user should be aware of differences.
