farm
farm
A tract or tracts of land, with improvements, available to produce crops or livestock, including fish. The Bureau of the Census defined a farm in 1978 as any place that has $1,000 or more in gross sales of farm products per year, which remains as the definition of farm. The definition of “farm” for the Farm Services Agency in the 2008 Farm Bill is “the sum of all crop acreage in all counties that is planted or intended to be planted for harvest by the eligible producer”. The definition of “farm” for the Risk Management Agency is “the sum of all crop acreage in all counties that is planted or intended to be planted for harvest by the eligible producer”.
