common land unit

The CLU is a Farm Service Agency (FSA) location identifier using state-wide geospatial files. The CLU is a 7 digit numerical land identifier record of a GIS-boundary geo-spatial shape file for farm ground whose boundaries were delineated from relative permanent field features. The CLU is the smallest unit of land that has a permanent, contiguous GIS boundary, delineated from relatively permanent features such as fence lines, roads, and/or waterways, with common land cover and land management, and common owner and/or common producer associations.
