Previous Topics from former Council:

  • GLN Use and Implementation, incl. membership discussion on single identifier for entities across messages
  • Message Versioning for implemented MFR to DST supply chain messages
  • AGIIS Product Directory Content and Data Load Rule Review
  • AGIIS Connectivity, Use - best practices, synchronization, alignment with other segments
  • GTIN Task Force/Product Identification next steps, inc. Formulation and Brand ID
Discuss topics to see if there are any updates and interest moving forward.
  • GLN Use and Implementation, incl. membership discussion on single identifier for entities across messages -  The group was reminded that this topic stemmed from a Directory Oversight Committee discussion to remove references of the EBID from AGIIS which in return sparked a discussion of removing the reference of multiple identifiers from AgGateway messages.  There was discussion around the value this initiative would provide which is clarity in AGIIS and AgGateway Message documentation and the AGIIS application.  This initiative would make implementation for new members/subscribers more straight forward. Josh asked the participants if this initiative would cause any challenges for their organization. One participant felt that they would need to get a better understanding of the impact to their organization.  Josh stated he would revisit the topic with the DOC.
  • Message Versioning for implemented MFR to DST supply chain messages - Matt reviewed the topic with the group and there was no immediate need or urgency to move this topic forward.
  • AGIIS Product Directory Content and Data Load Rule Review - Josh reviewed the topic and stated that there has been requests from consumers of AGIIS Crop Protection Product information to be updated and consistent, but it is critical that a representative of all Crop Protection product owners participate in this activity. During this conversation representatives from Corteva and Syngenta stated they would participate in the review.  Josh stated he would work on reaching out to the Primary AGIIS contact for each Crop Protection product owner to see if they would be willing to participate in a AGIIS Product Directory Review Team.
  • AGIIS Connectivity, Use - best practices, synchronization, alignment with other segments - Matt mentioned that this was a general initiative that the former Crop Protection Council felt was important. He also thought the conversations and activity the Seed Synchronization Task Force had been having over the last 6 -9 months were beneficial and is there anything that can be taken from those conversations and applied to Crop Protection. Josh stated he was still working with that group and could provide a high level overview at the next Crop Protection Meet-Up.
  • GTIN Task Force/Product Identification next steps, inc. Formulation and Brand ID - Overall the group felt like this was still an issue. Scott Nieman mentioned that the Product Catalog API's may assist with the problem.  Matt stated that the notes from the Product Meet-up at the Annual Meeting provided good background on the issue. Josh took the action item to review the action items from the Product Meet-up at the Annual Meeting and schedule a Product Meet-up is deemed needed.

Capture ideas for new working groups

Randy Fry and Julie Benick brought up the need for unique product identification in Crop Protection Messaging.  They mentioned that this was a topic brought up on the Ag Retail Meet-Up. As Ag Retailers expand B2B connectivity, they are encountering need for a standard item file for onboarding on-boarding a new supplier/customer.  Many Crop Protection manufacturers are not loading all the products in AGIIS and there is not a GTIN available. There is a need for a unique product identifier that could apply across the supply chain up and down.  The Ag Retail Meet-up discussed planning a meet-up drill down on this topic further and wanted to make any Crop Meet-up participants aware of this topic and would encourage participation.

Scott Nieman added on to Randy and Julie's conversation by mentioning the work underway in the Product Catalog Working Group. He invited folks to attend their calls. Randy asked if it would be possible for Scott to provide a high level overview and demo of the product catalog.  Scott was going to follow with is peer in the working group to see if that would be feasible and would get back with Member Services on the outcome.  Scott did state there would be a session at the Mid-Year Virtual Meeting.
