acid detergent fiber

Consists primarily of cellulose, lignin, and acid detergent fiber crude protein. In the past, acid detergent fiber (ADF) was used as a predictor of indigestibility of forages; in recent years, however, research has indicated that ADF is not as strongly correlated with decreased digestibility as once thought.
