ball valve

Valve in a pipeline used to start or stop flow by rotating a sealed ball with a transverse hole approximately equal to the diameter of the pipeline. Ball rotation is typically 90 degrees for a single-port control. Valve with an internally mounted ball with a hole in the center for water to pass through. (Rotation of the ball one-fourth turn opens and closes the valve.)
